Peanut Butter Bites
A quick, easy recipe you can make for your birds with only two ingredients and with no cooking, mixing, or waiting! If you don''t have Grapenuts® cereal handy, just about any variety of plain-flavored cereal that is free from sugar or  marshmallows will work. Cheerios®, corn flakes, bran flakes (with or without
raisins), and all good choices but here are plenty other good cereals too! Just
make sure you crush the cereal into small chunks (not too much, it shouldn't be
powdered), before using. Also, if you opt for cereal instead of bird food, this
will also be a great recipe for children, and you might like to try some too!

1 jar of low salt peanut butter (crunchy or creamy)
Grapenuts® cereal or bird's favorite seed mix, as needed

1. Transfer the cereal or seed mix into a wide, shallow dish such as a pie plate.

2. With a spoon or other utensil, scoop out teaspoon sized balls of the peanut
butter. Then press each ball into the cereal or seed mix. Then roll the ball to
help coat each side evenly. As the peanut butter is coated, it will not stick
your hands anymore and will become easy to roll and shape. Work each glob of
peanut butter into a perfect ball by rolling it in the cereal or seed mix.

3. Repeat as desired using as much peanut butter and cereal and you would like.
The peanut butter bites are ready to be served immediately, or you can place
them in the refrigerator to firm them up. They will also freeze well. Yield
varies.
Those little nimble musicians of the air, that warble forth their curious ditties, with which nature hath furnished them to the shame of art.  ~Izaak Walton
A bird "chews" with its stomach. Since most birds do not have teeth, a bird routinely swallows small pebbles and gravel. These grits become vigorously agitated in the bird's stomach and serve to grind food as it passes through the digestive system.
