A kitten's first year in life is equal to about 16 human
years. By the end of the second year she is about 21
human years. Then for each additional year she will age
about four human years. Got that? (That's about four
parties a year!)
Here's a chart to help you keep it all straight so you can
plan the celebrations accordingly:
CAT YEARS-----------------------HUMAN YEARS
1------------------------------16
2------------------------------21
3------------------------------25
8------------------------------46
10------------------------------54
15------------------------------74
20-----------------------------94
"It is in the nature of cats to do a certain amount of unescorted roaming." ~ Adlai Stevenson
There is now an increasing awareness of heartworms being a problem in cats as well as dogs. Cats living in those areas where mosquito infestation is heavy, such as the southeastern United States, are at a greater risk. There is a higher incidence of this condition in male cats and cats that go outside but cats housed indoors are also at risk. Speak to your veterinarian about heartworm preventative for your cat.
