Cat saves woman and baby from fire
A cat is being credited with saving the lives of a Pennsylvania woman and her granddaughter who escaped from a burning home because of the feline's warning.

Jean Poole lay next to her 9-month-old granddaughter when she
put her down for a nap.  The Harrisburg Patriot-News  reports Poole awoke when Princess, her 7-year-old Ocicat mixed breed, began loud meows.  Poole said Princess does this when she gets excited, especially around strangers, so she got up to look around her mobile home. She didn't see anyone but smelled smoke and found flames engulfing her living room picture window.  Poole grabbed her granddaughter left through a back door.  She then returned for Princess.

Scott Glassmyer, assistant chief of the Newberry Township Fire Company, said without the cat's help the smoke may have overcome Poole.  The fire, which destroyed the mobile home, has been ruled an accident.
"There is no such thing as 'just a cat'."

Have you ever noticed small white or black bumps on your cat's chin? This condition is known as feline acne and is very common in cats. Consider using a glass or steel bowl for your cats food as a plastic bowl has a greater tendency to harbor bacteria. When your cat eats, she rubs her chin along the bottom of the food bowl. Discuss this treatable condition with your veterinarian
