Never pick them up by the scruff of the neck
Never give cows milk to young kittens
Never take kittens away from mother until at least six weeks
Never take kittens outdoors until after one week of vaccination.

Many mistakes have been made by pet owners who think they can discipline a cat as they would a dog. Unlike dogs, cats form social groups based on respecting territory, not by respecting the "top dog". Overpowering or hitting your cat will only make it fear you, not alter its behavior. Since cats hate being surprised, using a spray bottle with water, clapping or other sudden noises can be a more effective way to discipline.
