In Home Safety Tips For Your Cat
In the House
Here are some things around your house that you may not have realized can be dangerous to your cat: Electrical cords, drapery and blind cords, recliner chairs, the dryer, stove tops, bags with handles.
Additionally, it is important to keep all medicine safely out of reach as many common household medications are poisonous to your cat.
Outside the House
Make sure your cat is clearly identified whether you use a collar and an identification tag or a more permanent form of identification like tattooing.
Poisons
If your cat has a poisonous substance on its coat or skin, it's important to wash it off before your cat licks it off and poisons itself. Use soap and warm water or give it a complete bath.

Often owners describe unusual behavior from their feline companions. One such behavior involves twitching of the skin along the back, sudden apparent bursts of energy and exaggerated grooming of the dorsal back. Cats may appear somewhat frantic. These are some of the signs of feline hyperesthesia syndrome. See your veterinarian if your cat is displaying these signs.
