In the late 1970s, Coca-Cola Co. boycotted the NBC late-night comedy show "Saturday Night Live" for several years. The giant soda company was retaliating against a frequent character of comedian John Belushi's, a Greek restaurant owner, who repeatedly said to customers, "No Coke... Pepsi," thus saying the rival company's name dozens of times throughout each skit.
1-1/2 C granulated sugar
1 C packed brown sugar
1/3 C light cream
1/3 C milk
2 TBS butter or margarine

1 tsp vanilla
1/2 C broken pecans(optional)
Butter sides of heavy 2 qt. saucepan. Combine in pan, sugars, cream, milk and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugars melt and mixture comes to boil. Then cook to softball stage(238), stirring only when necessary. Immediately remove from heat and cool to lukewarm(110)without stirring. Add vanilla and beat until mixture becomes thick and starts to loose gloss...add nuts and spread in buttered dish or pan. Score into squares while warm. Cut when cool and firm.
