CHOCOLATE FUDGE SQUARES
2 c. plain flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. water
1/2 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Blend flour and sugar in large bowl. In saucepan, add butter, water, Crisco and cocoa; bring to a fast boil. Pour over flour and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into 2 square cake pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

ICING:
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Start icing approximately 10 minutes before cake is done. In saucepan, add butter, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil and add confectioners sugar, vanilla and nuts. When cake is done, empty from pans and gently pour over cakes.
