My dog, Little Fox is a friendly dog.   Every one in the neighbor hood knows her.  When I take her out in the front yard, if any one is out in their yard she runs over to them to say hello. One day I walked out in the front yard with Little Fox and our neighbor Wayne was out in his yard.  Just as soon as Little Fox saw him she ran over to him and lay down on her back so he could scratch her belly.

"Hello pooch" Wayne said as he bent over and scratched her belly.  That done, little fox jumped up and ran back to our yard. Then she saw the boys that live across the street from us.  She ran across to them and made the rounds to each one of them to say hello.  One of them escorted her back across the street to our yard.

Then Little Fox and I went back into the house, and she has to have a treat for being so friendly.  I keep a bowl of small milk bone treats on top of the refrigerator and when she comes in she heads straight for the refrigerator.  After her treat she goes and lays down at the patio door so she can keep an eye on the back yard. Once in a while a stray cat will come in the back yard and Little Fox will raise cane until I let her out.  She puts the cat out of her yard real quick.

Then at night after supper Johnnie and I will be watching TV and Little Fox will go to the front window and start barking.  I'll go open the front door to see what she is barking at and the three girls next door and all their visitors will be on our drive way under our mercury vapor light playing.  There may be as many as 12 or 14 all together.

I'll open the door and let Little Fox out.  She runs to the kids and races around through all of them to see who they are.  She stops at the three neighbor girls so they can pet her, but the rest of the crowd doesn't get the chance.  She will run in circles in and out of the group, while they chase her.  Then she will run back to the door for me to let her in.

Once inside its straight back to the refrigerator for her treat.  If she doesn't get a treat when she comes back in the house she will go off to Johnnie's bedroom and pout for a while.

Any time the door bell rings Little Fox will start barking and run to the door.  She will stand there until we open the door and then she will welcome who ever is standing there by barking and wagging her tail.

If it happens to be our daughter Susan, just as soon as she comes in the house Little Fox is all over her.  Then she will run to the refrigerator and wait for Susan to give her a treat.  Susan will laugh and tell Little Fox she sure is a spoiled dog.  Then Susan and Little Fox will  but no, that is a whole nother story for a different time. I call Little Fox my watch dog.  She watches for excuses to get a treat.

LITTLE FOX'S FRIENDS
While you are away, does your dog bark frequently, stimulated by the outside world? Consider keeping him in an inner room of the home and playing the radio softly, or providing other white noise to disconnect him for the outside environment.
